In Praise of Long Walks and Long Podcasts
The best 'app' I installed this year was a route: forty minutes around the park after lunch, phone in pocket, one long interview podcast playing.
Pairing the two fixed each habit separately. The walk happens because the episode is good; the episode gets heard because there is nothing else competing for attention at the pond's far end.
If focus feels rationed lately, steal the format: one recurring slot, one route, one queue. Depth of attention returns surprisingly fast when it finally has somewhere to sit.
